FAQs

What size cricket bat should I buy?

When holding the bat straight at your side, the handle should come half-way up your trouser pocket. If you are not able to go and try holding a cricket bat, this size guide should help.

Bat Size Batter Height Batter's Approx. Age. Bat Length
1 Up to 4ft 3 inches 4-5 years old 25 1/4 inches
2 4' 3" - 4' 6" 6-7 years old 27 3/4 inches
3 4' 6" - 4' 9" 8-9 years old 28 3/4 inches
4 4' 9" - 4' 11" 9-10 years old 29 3/4 inches
5 4' 11" - 5' 2" 10-11 years old 30 3/4 inches
6 5' 2" - 5' 5" 11-13 years old 31 3/4 inches
Harrow 5' 5" - 5' 8" 12-14 years old 32 3/4 inches
Full Size (Short Handle) 5' 8" - 6' 3" 15+ years old 33 1/2 inches
Full Size (Long Handle/Blade) 6' 3" and above 15+ years old 34 3/8 inches

Don't forget that weight is equally important when choosing a cricket bat - you should be able to hold the bat out horizontally with your WEAKER hand for at least 5 secods without it dropping.

Why do cricket balls come in different sizes and which should I use?

Cricket balls come in three different weights, 4.75oz, 5oz and 5.5oz. The smaller ball is for juniors (up to the age of 14), the 5oz ball is for women and the largest ball is used by men (aged 14 and older).

Why size ball can I use with a Sidearm?

With both the Sidearm Pro and Sidearm Classic a full-sized (5.5oz) ball is the most effective.
